Léo Apotheker

Léo Apotheker Léo Apotheker is co-CEO of SAP AG, alongside CEO Henning Kagermann. Prior to this appointment in April 2008, he had held the position of SAP Deputy CEO of SAP AG since March 2007. Apotheker has been a member of the SAP AG Executive Board and President of Global Customer Solutions & Operations (CSO) since 2002. In this role, he is responsible for all of SAP's customer operations including sales, marketing, consulting, education and training, SME, and field services.

Since joining SAP in 1988, Léo Apotheker has held various positions within the company including President of SAP EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) from 1999 to 2002. Prior to that role he was CEO and founder of SAP France and SAP Belgium (1995-1997) and President of SAP's South West Europe region (1997-1999).

During his career, Léo Apotheker has held management positions at a variety of companies in the IT industry. From 1994 to 1995, he was management partner at ABP Partners, a strategic management consulting company specialized in global strategy definition and implementation and in restructuring of ailing software companies.

Before joining ABP partners, he served as founding president and COO of ECsoft (1992-1994), one of the largest European venture capital startups. He also held positions at McCormack & Dodge Europe and Swift.

German-born and fluent in five languages (Dutch, English, French, German, and Hebrew), Léo Apotheker graduated in International Relations and Economics from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. He is also a member of the Supervisory Board of AXA.

In December 2007, Léo Apotheker was appointed Chevalier de la Légion d‘Honneur.
